What a different event the Auckland marathon was t What a different event the Auckland marathon was this year - firstly it wasn't even in the year that it was, followed by over 2 months of extra training/post peak, and finally - I think now we know why they don't run it in January every year! Despite all this we had a couple of standouts - including 3 PBs - some of which were reluctant ones in the circumstances, haha! Well done to Nick, Ben - @pommykiwi01 and Nige - @vagabond_nigel (that nipple looks sore!!), and of course everyone else who took part. Legends!

What do you do when your marathon (Wellington) is What do you do when your marathon (Wellington) is cancelled a week out? Run  a marathon on your own and get that sub 3 you've been chasing! Awesome effort by Tadhg, especially considering that you were all on your own the whole 42.2kms!

COVID-19 has changed life a lot, but we are pretty COVID-19 has changed life a lot, but we are pretty lucky to have it so normal here in NZ. Even so, many people have been re-evaluating  and some want to keep running, but dial back the amount of time and energy they put into it. That's why I've decided to create a new training package, for those that want to 'get through' an event but not make it their whole life - like @rachel_smalley told us "you took me from a plodder to some top finishes and a 3:34 marathon PB and a 1:39 half marathon PB, but this year life is a little busy, and I just want to 'get around' some events."

I don't think we need to ask @garrettsby if he gav I don't think we need to ask @garrettsby if he gave it everything during his testing session! As part of his prep for the Taupo half marathon he had some moxy muscle oxygenation testing (with a 3rd moxy to monitor any form changes at a physiological level) to make sure we're on track with the pacing in his race plan, and combined it with an advanced, multiple pace biomechanical analysis to check his gait for technique and injury risk assessment. Looking good mate!

The aim of the 5-1-5 test is not for you to finish The aim of the 5-1-5 test is not for you to finish the last 5 minute stage, but rather for you to dig deep (like Carl is here!), give it your all, and reach your limit, in order for us to find out what's holding you back. We then focus your training based around the information this crucial test provides, so you can achieve even better outcomes from your training.

The '5-1-5' Muscle Oxygenation testing is the corn The '5-1-5' Muscle Oxygenation testing is the cornerstone of our training methodology. With it, your training zones and predicted event finishing times can be accurately determined, but most importantly, it shows your physiologically limiting system. And why is this important? Because it guides us on where to focus your training to get the biggest improvements. Your time is too important for inefficient, wasted workouts and junk miles.

What a month May was - we've had @domharveynz with What a month May was - we've had @domharveynz with a new half PB of 1:21, Tadhg Charleton got a new PB on his mini peak on a hilly/rolling course (that may have involved horses??), finishing in 3:08 and 4th overall! Then we had @pommykiwi01 finishing Rotorua Marathon in 3:18 - taking 24 minutes off of his PB in his 8th marathon, and in Hawkes bay - @benbibby got a sub 3 PB - 2:58, and another runner got a new PB when we were planning for a more cruisey run!
